Camelback Gallery - Amazing Animals 2022 International Arts Exhibition
I am honored to have received a Silver Award in Camelback Gallery’s Amazing Animals 2022 International Juried Visual Arts Competition. To be included in an exhibition with such amazing talent is humbling. For this competition, I submitted my image of the “Salt River Wild Horses” titled “Wild and Free”.
This image was taken near the “Wild Horse” Trailhead off of the Bush Highway. I used my Canon 6D MKII with my Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L. The combination of the late afternoon light and the collection of these wild horses made for a perfect afternoon.

The Salt River wild horses are the historic and majestic creatures roaming the lower Salt River in the Tonto National Forest in Arizona. The Salt River wild horses are protected pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 3-1491 (aka the Salt River Horse Act). The Salt River Wild Horse Management Group is under contract with the AZ Department of Agriculture (AZDA) to manage this herd humanely.
